Big Sky Subsurface, LLC was formed in 2005 as a subsidiary of Big Sky Drilling, LLC, a geotechnical and environmental drilling company. Founded by Jon J. Hepfner, P.E., Big Sky Subsurface was re-organized in April 2008 to provide high quality geotechnical and materials engineering consulting. the company is equipped with state of the art geotechnical and materials testing equipment and subsurface drilling capabilities. As the principal and senior geotechnical engineer, Mr. Hepfner has over 20 years of engineering experience in geotechnical consulting in the state of Montana.
Our goal is to provide high-quality geotechnical engineering services for clients including architectural design groups, engineering firms, commercial and construction-related clients, private homeowners/developers, insurance companies, and various local, state, and federal agencies.
